Series I Can’t Believe I Haven’t Read Yet! 💀

Posted June 7, 2022 by Kate

hello, loves!

HOWDY ‘DO. Today I’m exposing myself… and my ginormous TBR.

My Goodreads is stacked. I’ve had the same account going on ten years now (WOW), and while it’s undergone several “cleaning” binges and purges in the form of “yearly maintenance,” it’s a disaster of hundreds of spontaneous “Want to Read”‘s that leave the mind as fast as it enters it. All the blessings to last Kate who whittled it down from over two thousand to just several hundred 🙌🏼 She was really thinking of me :)

I’m sure this will just be part one of at least two, but here are some series I cannot believe I haven’t read yet.

Bergman Brothers Series by Chloe Liese

I’ve heard so many things about Chloe Liese and have seen this series around often. It’s been on my list since the release of the first one, but I’ve been a bit leery of it anyway. I adore college romances, especially with the tropes that these stories play with, but I’ve been burned a lot, and the hype puts me off a bit.

Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall

I’m a literal horrible human being, because I actually got an ARC of Boyfriend Material prior to release and haven’t read it, despite it being one of my most highly anticipated releases of the year. MM romances are always a hit, especially with with a dislike-to-friends-to-lovers fake dating trope! I don’t love that this one has sequels, as I typically like my standalone romances to be just that – standalones.

Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout

This one doesn’t really require explanation, as it’s so hyped and popular. HOWEVER, I defy normal expectation a least a bit on this one, as I’ve been a JLA fan since grade school. I was obsessed with her Lux series (Daemon Black WAS my childhood soulmate), and then I quickly fell into her college romances, which she writes under J Lynn. The hype is the only real reason I haven’t read this one yet, regardless of the fact that I need to.

The Morganville Vampires

You know I love my long paranormal series! I mean…. hello, Psy-Changeling, Mercy Thompson, and Black Dagger Brotherhood (etc), but for some reason I never tried this one!! It’s starts out innocently enough, I believe some kind of college roommates situation?? A human amongst a vampire house, perhaps? Regardless, paranormal new adult found family is basically my catnip…… so why haven’t I read this????

Addicted by Krista & Becca Ritchie

So technically, I’ve read this first book. It’s captivating, it’s real, and it’s a sweet as it is depressing, in some aspects. The story follows the real story of addicts falling in love, their priorities and relationship as they navigate them. It’s a great book, but it’s also a hard story. Addiction has been part of my family, and I don’t particularly like reading about it in this light. I’ve DNF’d this book in the 90%s both times I’ve tried to read it. I loved it, but it’s a difficult narrative. But I know I’ll adore this series and the sister-narrative once I dive in.

The Fallen Men by Gianna Darling

I probably would have started this series already if it didn’t start with the teacher and a student… which is a trope I have enjoyed in the past, but it’s not my first choice. That said, I know I’ll enjoy this series, I just have to give it a go. These covers are kinda sexy.

The Falconer by Elizabeth May

You know, I’m not… exactly sure what this series is about?? I have several friends who STAN this series. There’s a badass woman woh flowing, fiery hair on the cover holding blades!!!!!!!!! Honestly that’s enough for me. I also know the motto: She’s a stunner, she’s a liar, she’s a murderer; She’s a Falconer. helll yeahh.

The Dreamer Trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater

Because The Raven Boys isn’t my favorite series ever, right?? Because it is. I adore The Raven Boys. Every one of the Gangsey’s have a special place in my heart. But I’m exceedingly nervousssss for this love letter to the Lynch brothers. I love I’ll love it, but the anxiety is real.

Bridgertons by Julia Quinn

I don’t even think I need to explain this one 😂 The show is 👏🏻 phenomenal 👏🏻 we all know that (season one especially… delicious!!) but I’m ashamed to admit that I haven’t read the source material!! I read book #4 (“Romancing Mister Bridgerton”) back in 2019, and I honestly don’t remember my thoughts nor do I remember anything. Which is semi-exciting, as I want to go into season three fresh, but I do need to read the rest of them. I love regency/historical romances but never pick them up! Julia Quinn has got to be a solid bet.
