From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Ashley comes a new story in her Dream Man series…
Charlotte “Lottie” McAlister is in the zone. She’s ready to take on the next chapter of her life, and since she doesn’t have a man, she’ll do what she’s done all along. She’ll take care of business on her own. Even if that business means starting a family.
The problem is, Lottie has a stalker. The really bad kind. The kind that means she needs a bodyguard.
Enter Mo Morrison.
Enormous. Scary.
Quiet.
Mo doesn’t say much, and Lottie’s used to getting attention. And she wants Mo’s attention. Badly.
But Mo has a strict rule. If he’s guarding your body, that’s all he’s doing with it.
However, the longer Mo has to keep Lottie safe, the faster he falls for the beautiful blonde who has it so together, she might even be able to tackle the demons he’s got in his head that just won’t die.
But in the end, Lottie and Mo don’t only have to find some way to keep hands off until the threat is over, they have to negotiate the overprotective Hot Bunch, Lottie’s crazy stepdad, Tex, Mo’s crew of frat-boy commandos, not to mention his nutty sisters.
All before Lottie finally gets her Dream Man.
And Mo can lay claim to his Dream Girl.
**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Kristen Ashley is one of my favorite contemporary romance authors!! Oh my gosh, she never fails to make me fall completely in love with a story and with her characters. This novella is an interconnected story with characters from her Rock Chick series and from her Dream Man serieswhich was absolutely wonderful to be able to go back and enjoy some of my favorite characters. The main character here, Lottie, is the sister of the main character from Rock Chick Rescueand Mo is the employee of Hawk Delgado, the main hero (and commando) from Mystery Manone of my favorite comfort romances.

This was a bodyguard romance… i.e., one of the best tropes in existence! Lottie was in danger from a seriously fucked-up stalker, and Mo was tasked with keeping her safe when the threats got real. But it didn’t take too long for the attraction to hit each of them, but Mo refused to start anything until the threat against her was neutralized, lest he be distracted. So they just spent absolutely every minute together otherwise and the sexual chemistry was insane

“She’s under your skin,” Hawk murmured.
“She’s not under my skin. I sleep on her couch. I guard her. But when this is over, she’ll be in my life. My choice? For the rest of it. So that’s not under my skin. She’s just going to be a part of me.”

I was a little nervous about reading this one, scared that I wasn’t going to like Lottie, as she’s quite different from her sister (whom I loved in Rock Chick Rescue). Lottie was strong, independent and fully confident in herself, which is always a tough line to walk for authors in order to pull off – but this was wildly successful. She was so much fun to read, and Mo was her exact perfect match, as the strong, silent type; a huge guy, but with a heart of gold.

This harked back to the OG Kristen Ashley books, which was a real treat. It’s a novella, so don’t expect a full-length plot out of this, but it was a large novella, at 256 pages, so it didn’t disappoint. Mo’s family mixed along with Lottie’s friends and family were really a blast, I can’t wait to learn more about Mo’s family. I believe he had… four sisters?? They were an awesome bunch. The story itself was sweet and romantic, with a bit of friends-to-lovers trope going on, which is, as you know, always a win with me!
