hello, loves!
It’s absolutely unreal that I’m here presenting another seasonal TBR!! How can it be spring-time already? The last TBR I did was for Fall 2019, and I read the first six books on my TBR… and neglected the last four. I’m not sure how that happened at all, but I think it’s absolutely hilarious ? But it’s a majority, so I’ll absolutely take it!! Maybe this will finally be the season where my TBR spontaneously… gets read?
Wait, why are you laughing?
I’ll wait.
Anyway.
I have a pretty great list of books to read this season, and I’m fairly optimistic about them – not including planned rereads! We’ll see! Onward!
1. Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller
We love a good soft-hearted assassin badass, and especially when that person isn’t the love interest – but the female main character. YOU HEARD ME. Get on this one! He’s a Shadow King with a shadowy power (oooh la la) and she’s saving his life over and over to keep him alive long enough so that he can marry her and then she can be the one to kill him. This sounds like I’ll like this better than Cruel Prince… (My Review)
2. House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas
You know I love Sarah J. Maas, and I know that I’ll adore this one. It’s a half-fae, half-human badass out for revenge, paired with a fallen angel, and they take on the underbelly of the city in a paranormal investigation. YES this is the high-fantasy/urban-fantasy crossover I needed from SJM ✨ (Goodreads | Amazon)
3. All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace
This was my first Book of the Month pick, and since I made that decision, I’ve been singing positive reviews for this everywhere! The main character in this one was training to be the kingdom’s Master of Souls – which is badass and cool – but ends up having to strike a deal with a roguish pirate – yummy romance alert! – and basically I haven’t heard much that will be better than this story this spring!! (Goodreads | Amazon)
4. Ink in the Blood by Kim Smejkal
This was my second Book of the Month pick, and I’m SO EXCITED for this one!! Tattoo magic?? Are we kidding?? of course I had to get this one! “Lush” and “Dark” are two of my favorite adjectives when applied to a YA Fantasy, but this one also features a theater troupe and rebellion!! Ah!! I can’t wait to pick this one up this season! (Goodreads | Amazon)
5. Heartland by Sarina Bowen
Sarina Bowen knows how to write an amazing MM romance. The last one I read, Top Secret (Review) by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy, kept me up all night, reading it in one sitting. This one takes place in college, is a friends-to-lovers romance and features unrequited love between tutor/and tutor-ee (is that a word?) – i.e., most of my favorite tropes in one story! (Goodreads | Amazon)
6. Dream Maker by Kristen Ashley
Kristen Ashley writes some of my favorite contemporary romances, and I have no doubt this one will be any different. Featuring a nerdy-intelligent girl going back to college for engineering, and “alpha bad boy” Mag, who hides his pain behind jokes, I know this will be a one-sit read that I will adore. (Goodreads | Amazon | Review of KA book)
7. Alpha Night by Nalini Singh
Nalini Singh is one of my favorite authors, ever!! I’m currently rereading the Psy-Changeling series, the original sister-series to the Psy-Changeling Trinity series, where this book comes from, and it’s bringing all the love for this series back. Ms. Singh has the most compelling writing style and builds these amazing worlds in her stories. Her characters are so vivid and unique from each other, and the sense of community apparent in her novel is truly amazing. I really can’t recommend this series enough… and therefore, can’t wait to read this once it releases! (Goodreads | Amazon | Review book 1)
8. The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh
You know, I don’t know much about this one, admittedly. I love Renee Ahdieh’s sumptuous writing style from The Wrath and the Dawn, and I really hope she delivers on that promise!! Plus, it’s supposed to be a vampire story! Everyone’s all “Vampires are Back!” and I’m over here wondering when they left, because I still love vampires. I’m super pumped! I’m getting a lot of The Originals vibes from this – probably because it’s about the glitzy underbelly of New Orleans and it *has* (but doesn’t feature) vampires. (Goodreads | Amazon)
9. Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo
I love college books, and Ninth House makes a promise that I hope it can fulfill. The main character has a bit of a shady and horrifyingly traumatic past, and she’s offered a second chance to attend Yale University… with the task of monitoring the secret societies by her mysterious benefactor. I’m still waiting a book about witches in college (PLEASE!!), but I’ll certainly take this one while we wait. I’m hearing that this one is a very atmospheric read with many content warnings, so this sounds like my kind of book about living and surviving. Let’s do it! (Goodreads | Amazon)
10. Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater
This is the book I’ve been anticipating ever since 2016 when I first read The Raven Boys (I think I have that date right). If you’ve read The Raven Boys, you know all about the gang: Gansey, Noah, Blue, Adam Parrish, and Ronan Lynch. This series is all about Ronan Lynch and his strange ability!!! !!! !!! This is it guys!! This is where Pynch finally becomes a thing ?✨ Ronan was always my very favorite character of The Raven Boys series, and I cannot wait. Ms. Stiefvater’s writing in that series was a dream, and I really can’t wait to be there again! (And isn’t the paperback version glorious???) (Goodreads | Amazon)

I do, too!! He’s my fav ? The fact I haven’t read it yet is QUITE unacceptable
I don’t read a lot of fantasy or romance, so I haven’t read any of these. I’ve heard good things about some of them, though, and a lot of these covers are very eye-catching. Enjoy them!
Happy TTT!

Good luck with your spring TBR. I don’t have the best track record with them either. LOL.
My TTT .
They are hard to stay on top of for me, but I like to make a guideline during busy times :)
Just finished and reviewed Ninth House – I LOVED IT! Looking forward to trying Maas’ next book too.
That’s such good news!! I need to pick that up soon :) I did really like Maas’s book. It’s on the lengthy side (obviously), but I still ADORED the story. The main heroine… loved how real she was. Adult is definitely where SJM belongs. Hope you love it!!
I hope you enjoy all of these books!
My TTT .
Me too ? Thanks! I’ll definitely check out your post :)
