My week

This past week I went and visited my brother, 4 nieces, and nephew in North Carolina. I went with my parents and one of my other nieces (Anabelle, 5 years old), so she could meet her cousins for the first time. We went to the Aquarium and to the beach. But driving that 12+ hour drive twice in a week, sharing a backseat with a five-year-old… I don’t think I’ll recover from that for a while!

But I was really excited to go to the beach. Not only because it would have been Anabelle’s first time, but also because I was hoping to take some cute bookish photos! But. But. But. It rained every day! And it was cold and rainy and wet and just not a good situation for a fun day at the beach. Luckily, that changed on the last day and we got our chance. I got some cute photos with When It’s Real by Erin and one or two with The Rose and the Dagger by Renee Ahdieh. My niece cracked me up… I asked her if she liked the beach and she said, and I quote, “I like playing in the sand. The ocean is violent. I love the ocean.” She’s totally right, I forgot how violent the ocean could be. I was getting tossed around a good amount. But better yet, Anabelle fell asleep two minutes into the 15-minute drive home and we had a chill night with tacos :)

Going to North Carolina, you think of sun and waves and heat… no. I had one pair of jeans and two jackets and that was pretty much what I wore the whole time! Or I risked shorts with a blanket :) Thank god for that final day of warmth!

On the Blog

Last week, I announced a project I’m really excited about. I’m hosting a readathon/photo challenge, sponsored by Erin Watt! There are 17 challenges, spanned over two months: June and July. If you’re interested, definitely check out the #C2CReadathon2017 Information Post for more, well, information! Then, hop on over and see my challenge TBR!

In other news, summer is the perfect time to re-organize yourself! My room has been a pig-sty because I have not had time to properly go through it and clean it (or, to be honest, throw the clothes the two feet further into the hamper. Oh, the effort). Now that it’s summer, I have time to get my life together! Check out this post with 18 Ways to Organize Your Blog Efficiently (+ Resources)

Around the Blogosphere

I am a Paper Fury junkie. Every time my phone beeps with new Paper Fury content, I’m tripping over boots and cats (I don’t have cats) and tortillas and definitely books to read it. Not only does Cait take stunning photos on her Instagram, but she also has a blog chock-full of hilarious content! 10 Reasons Why Books are More Successful at Life Than You is my most recent favorite.

I also love the Readers in Wonderland blog. Bec and Alise make a wonderful duo and I usually find myself wanting to reach through the screen and high-five their faces in celebration of their correctness. And their superb photography. My most recent favorite, 5 Book Friendships that are Squad Goals, is a great example of that! Baring the one series I haven’t seen, I was nodding my way through this entire post!

Lost in Lit is yet another book blog that I simply adore! Becca and Lisa are great partners (and gorgeous bookstagrammer’s) and each time I read one of their posts, I walk away with several new TBR additions. That’s both good, and bad. Their Look In Our Beach Bags This Summer, and This is What You’ll See post had me walking away with too many new reads added to my Amazon Wish List. Don’t I just love to hate the sweet agony they bring me :)

In my Mailbox

Lucky for me, one of my orders came in the night before we left for North Carolina. In the mail, I received…

Totally Random

I really want Always and Forever, Lara Jean book by Jenny Han. Every time I go anywhere it’s there. And I want it. I want it bad. So bad. It’s been months (maybe years????) since I read of Lara Jean and Kavinsky … I need to go back in! Plus, gorgeous covers! The problem is, I just bought a new phone. So I need to wait until next month until I can buy that beautiful book!

Upcoming

  • It’s the end of the school year and the blog is looking to celebrate by putting your favorite characters (and mine) into popular yearbook superlatives!

How was your week? What your plans for next week? What have you read recently? What are you planning on reading? What just arrived in your mail? Let me know in the comments below! I’d love to hear from you :)

  1. Let’s to the Lost has such a pretty cover. LOL, I laughed about the 12-hour road trip. We usually drive to the East Coast and 18-21 hour trip and I told my hubby no way were we doing that this time.

Oh, wow! I hope you make that into a two-day travel. Usually, we’ll stay at a hotel and save the five or less remaining hours for the next day and do it all in one trip on the way home, but that’s not what happened this time. I actually just finished Letters to the Lost and I thought it was really good! Not only just a gorgeous cover :) Have a great week :)
